Is dancing a popular pastime in asia?

Not only are there alot but theyre really good at it. I was wondering since when did they take up an interest in hip hop dancing. hopefully, this question doesnt sound offensive. its certainly not meant that way. I enjoy watching them dance and hope they will continue I just wanted some education on the whereabouts of this trend.
